The Minister of Police will deliver the 2017 Budget Vote Speech on 23 May 2017

The Minister of Police, Mr Fikile Mbalula, MP, will deliver the Budget Vote Speech - one of the most important speeches on the SAPS's calendar - in Parliament on Tuesday, 23 May 2017.

In the Budget Vote Speech, the Minister will reflect on the police budget for the 2017/2018 financial year.

The Minister will lay the financial foundation enjoined by the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, the supreme law of the Republic of South Africa “to prevent, combat and investigate crime, to maintain public order, to protect and secure the inhabitants of the Republic and their property, and to uphold and enforce the law at all times ensuring a safe and secure South Africa for all.”

The budget vote can be viewed on the following DSTV channels, SABC News channel 404 and the Parliament TV, Channel 408 and will be forwarded via email to all SAPS employees and published on the SAPS website once delivered.
