Launch of anti-stolen goods campaign in Mpumalanga Province
“17 December 2014 at Masoyi, Nsikazi District in Mpumalanga Province”

The Civilian Secretariat for Police aims to embark on Imbizo Campaign Against Stolen Goods which will be held on the 17 December 2014 at Masoyi, Nsikazi District in Mpumalanga Province. The Partnership Unit is driving this campaign.

The purpose of this campaign is to engage communities and other various stakeholders around the Province and the surrounding areas to fight against stolen goods and also to remove the market of stolen goods which exist in the Province and also to the whole country of South Africa.

The objectives of this campaign are as follows:

  • Encourage the country to take an active moral stand against stolen goods
  • To make awareness of the Second Hand Goods Act;
  • It is aimed at reducing signicantly the market for stolen goods
  • Draw focused attention to the gruesome acts that get committed in the process of plundering stolen goods
  • Train the youth to engage in productive subsistence work
  • To ensure that social partners collaborate to develop and disseminate messages aimed at discouraging direct and indirect support to criminal activity
The stakeholders that are involved during the plenary of this event are Provincial Departments of Safety and Security, all Partnership stakeholders, CPF National Board.
